A photo blog contest!

On my fridge are many spontaneously written short poems. One of them is by me. You decide which words are mine (some images have more than one piece), and possibly earn the satisfaction of being right. Tempted? You can’t help it. Comment below with your guess. Huzzah!

(For Fantastic H, who, when she sees this, will know precisely which one is mine.)

Bonus Points: Which one was written by A?

At Victor Steinbrueck Park, late at night, everyone is so friendly and helpful!

February 20th, 2008 by aarondietz

I say — I didn’t know that strangers could still be so kind!

I took a late night walk not long ago, and jolly-wobbled right through Victor Steinbrueck Park. Well, before I could get five steps in, a kind stranger said to me, “You doing okay?”

Ten feet later, another said, “Do you need anything?”

Not but seven feet after that, yet another stranger chimed in. “Can I get you something?”

I must say, I am very optimistic about our future if I can go to a park where I don’t know anyone and be treated so well! Huzzah!

Dogboy – Now with pictures!

February 18th, 2008 by aarondietz

AdventuresOfDogboy.com is a community site run by me, with the help of a few significant, awesome people.

Recently, one of these awesome people decided to create images to go with some of the Dogboy blogs. The first one went up last week and it’s here: Dogboy Eats Yogurt.

The second one went up today. It’s here: Dogboy Watches TV.

The artist’s name is Charlie Potter, and you can check out his work at CharliePotter.com (especially good is his 3D work).

And remember: if you have a Dogboy story, submit it to me and maybe it will wind up on the site soon! Dogboy is here for YOU. Yes, YOU! Dogboy LOVES you!

There are Aaron Dietzes everywhere.

The other day I was offered a job. In Washington D.C.

The position: Program Analyst in the Office of Research and Engineering. Pay level: GS-7.

I considered taking it, but…somehow I knew that there was something a little odd about this job offer.*

So, I wrote Tom (of Human Resources) and declined the position.**

* For example, I hadn’t ever applied to the position, and had never heard of this employer.

** I declined by telling him he probably meant to send the job offer email to a different Aaron Dietz. He politely responded by confirming my suspicion, and divulging that apparently this Aaron Dietz had even been to the University of Washington, so there was a Seattle connection.

(Please, people–can I at least be the only Aaron Dietz in my state? That’s all I ask!)

Coming soon: Aaron Dietz Squared

February 10th, 2008 by aarondietz

Have you ever wondered why my Web site was aarondietz.us and not .com?

It’s because there is another Aaron Dietz out there that beat me to aarondietz.com. It’s fine. I’m over it. Besides, he does some interesting work. Check out his Haircut Art series–identical facial expressions that come across entirely differently when the person is given a different haircut (try number 17 – that’s my favorite).

Coming soon: an interview with Aaron Dietz. Aaron Dietz will ask Aaron Dietz questions about Aaron Dietz and about what he thinks about Aaron Dietz. Also, Aaron Dietz will be discussed, particularly where Aaron Dietz is concerned. To recap: Aaron Dietz, Aaron Dietz, Aaron Dietz, Aaron Dietz, Aaron Dietz, Aaron Dietz, Aaron Dietz.
